Sonoris Mastering Equalizer

The Sonoris Mastering Equalizer is a versatile parametric equalizer available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for both Windows and Mac. Designed for mixing and mastering, it features 7 bands, including lowpass, highpass, peaking, and shelving filters, with the option for linear phase or minimum phase operation for each band.

Transparency

This equalizer excels in enhancing or correcting challenging audio material, such as vocal performances, orchestral recordings, and intricate mixes, without introducing unwanted coloration. Its linear phase implementation guarantees a transparent character, allowing for precise boosts or cuts in frequency ranges without altering the original sound's transients, imaging, or depth. This capability enables greater adjustments compared to conventional equalizers without negative side effects.

Backward-Forward Filtering

Utilizing a unique 'backward-forward filtering' technique, the Sonoris Mastering Equalizer employs IIR filters instead of the more common FIR filters found in many linear phase implementations. This approach not only enhances efficiency but also provides a more analog-like filtering experience. The filters are derived from the Sonoris Equalizer, ensuring accurate gain up to Nyquist.

Processing Modes

Each band can be configured to process stereo, left (L), right (R), or mid (M) and side (S) channels. This flexibility is particularly beneficial in mastering, allowing for targeted enhancements, such as centering a vocal without affecting other instruments or focusing a bass while preserving stereo imaging. The SMEQ simplifies adjustments by enabling monitoring of LR or MS channels.

Display

The plugin features a large graphical display that provides clear visual feedback on your adjustments. Users can easily resize the plugin by dragging the lower right corner to suit their workspace.

Upsampling

With automatic upsampling options as well as manual settings for 2x, 4x, or 8x, the Sonoris Mastering Equalizer achieves even greater accuracy, particularly at higher frequencies.
