American Professional Jazz Bass RW 3-Color Sunburst — Modern Craftsmanship for the Working Bassist

The Fender American Professional Jazz Bass RW 3-Color Sunburst draws from more than sixty years of innovation, inspiration and evolution to meet the demands of today's working player. A alder body in 3-Color Sunburst polyurethane with a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard pairs with a Slim "C" maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard, giving the familiar Jazz Bass feel with modern refinements. It is the right choice for working bassists who want the unmistakable Jazz Bass voice with contemporary comfort.

What Sets This Jazz Bass Apart

Two new V-Mod III single-coil Jazz Bass pickups are more articulate than ever while delivering the punch and clarity the Jazz Bass is known for, and ClassicGear Precision potentiometers deliver smooth, consistent control with custom torque, precise resistance and a musical taper. The Slim "C" neck sports smooth rolled fingerboard edges, a "Super-Natural" satin finish and a newly sculpted neck heel for a supremely comfortable feel and easy access to the upper register.

Alder Body and Finish — The Foundation of the Jazz Bass Tone

The alder body gives this Jazz Bass a balanced, lively voice with a full midrange and robust low end, and the polyurethane finish protects it for daily gigging.

Who Should Play the American Professional Jazz Bass

The American Professional Jazz Bass RW 3-Color Sunburst is built for working bassists, session players and serious students who want a USA-made instrument with the unmistakable Jazz Bass voice. Its Slim "C" neck and narrow-tall frets suit players who switch between fingerstyle, pick and slap techniques across long sets, while the articulate V-Mod III pickups cover funk, soul, R&B, rock, fusion and pop. The included Deluxe Molded hardshell case means the bass is ready for the stage.

The Fender Jazz Bass Legacy

The Jazz Bass debuted in 1960 as Fender's second bass design, adding a slim neck, dual single-coil pickups and an offset waist to give bassists a more articulate alternative to the Precision Bass. The American Professional Jazz Bass carries that heritage forward with V-Mod III pickups, the HiMass Pro bridge, ClassicGear Precision potentiometers and a sculpted neck heel.
